Wrote the Mozilla Public License and led the Mozilla project through the open-sourcing of Netscape, the years when it looked dead, and the rise of Firefox, which broke Internet Explorer’s monopoly and dragged web standards forward. Chaired the Mozilla Foundation for two decades of arguing that the browser should answer to users.
