Runs several companies at once and has changed at least two industries: SpaceX made orbital launch reusable and drove cost per kilogram down by an order of magnitude, and Tesla made electric cars something people wanted rather than tolerated. In 2014 Tesla pledged not to enforce its patents against anyone using them in good faith. He bought Twitter for $44 billion in 2022.
