Co-founded Honeycomb and made the case that dashboards of pre-aggregated metrics cannot answer questions you did not think to ask, which reframed monitoring into observability and high-cardinality events. Co-wrote Observability Engineering and Database Reliability Engineering, and has been relentlessly, usefully rude about the idea that you can avoid testing in production.
